Day 1 of the 2021 Prada Cup Semi-Finals had two races scheduled, SF R1 and SF R1. The second-placed team, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, from the round-robin races faced the third-placed team, NYYC American Magic, in a best-of-seven series to determine who will sail in the final.
As the higher seed, Luna Rossa Challenge chose to have the Starboard gate position as their preferred starting mark. Team Luna Rossa took both races against NYYC American Magic.

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli performed two perfect starts followed by two consistent and clean races which they just kept increasing their lead over the Americans who, despite working one miracle by putting PATRIOT back together, couldn’t work another on the water with a tough day playing follow the leader.
Yesterday’s 2021 Prada Cup Semi-Finals Races gives Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team a total of 2 points and NYYC American Magic still sits at 0 points on day 1 of the 2021 Prada Cup Semi-Finals.
The winner of that final series will become the official challenger for the America’s Cup and compete against defender Team New Zealand.
