Day 6 of the 36th America’s Cup AC-75 Sailboat Race

There was only one race on Day 5 of the 36th America’s Cup AC-75 Sailboat Race but it was a good race. The Italians were able to control and lead the race until Leg 5 on the final approach to Gate 5. The Kiwis took the lead and flew away from Luna Rossa crossing the finish line 30 seconds ahead of the Italians.

Race 9 was an exciting race as both boats crossed the start line at speed at the same time. Luna Rossa looked like they might win this race as they were able to lead for the first 5 legs of the race by using some blocking and covering moves. However this was not enough to prevent Emirates Team to pull away in Leg 5 of the race and rounded the final gate ahead of Luna Rossa.

It is pretty clear that New Zealand has the faster AC-75 Sailboat and when they broke out from behind the Italians, Emirates Team opened their lead in Leg 6 of the race to nearly 500 meters crossing the finish line 30 seconds in front of Luna Rossa.
