Day 3 of the 36th America’s Cup AC-75 Sailboat Race

At the end of the day, both teams remain tied in a tight sailboat race for the America’s Cup Trophy and bragging rights for the next 4 years. The race remains close but in my opinion, the New Zealand boat can outsail the Italian boat so the Italians will need to exploit every mistake the Kiwis make to win the trophy.

In the first race of the day, Race 5, Luna Rossa was able to cross the start line ahead of Emirates Team and performed several blocking maneuvers to keep the lead throughout the race. However, the Kiwis have the faster sailboat and only gave the Italians an 18 second lead in the end.

Race 6 saw Emirates Team take the start by a few hundred meters and Luna Rossa trailed the entire race. The Kiwi boat continued to expand their lead and crossed the finish line 1:41 minutes ahead of the Italians. Although the Italians have the better tactician the Kiwis have the faster AC75 Sailboat.
