Boulder Oaks Campground – Campo, CA

Boulder Oaks Campground in Campo, CA will run the average couple $14/night. You don’t get much, but it’s worth it for the water supply, toilets, and only 45 minutes to the ocean.

The campground and camping pads are clean. There’s a dumpster near the entrance to the camping loops. The vault toilets, although smelly, they get the job done.

Watch where you walk as the campground is designated as an equestrian site. It has several corrals to hold campers horses. Although we did not see any horses we did see evidence they were regular visitors to the camp.

Access is right off old CA-80, which runs parallel with I-8. The highway is relatively close, but the highway noise is barely noticeable.
