The Dread Pirate Dave
Hi, My name is David Taylor and I am one of several authors and the administrator of this website.
I was born on a cold November morning on the showy plains of Colorado. Like my father before me I am an American Nomad.
I served about 14 years in the U.S. Army. It was a lot of fun but tanks are a young man's game. I was a Tank Commander on the M1A1 Abrams Tank and I spent most of my time in Armored Cavalry Units.
After the Army, I decided to try to build computers for a living. Building the computers was easy; making a living doing that, not so much.
After a year of that I began designing websites and that worked out well.
In my old age I manage this website and dream up crazy sailing adventures.
Demand a Parley
If you strip away the labels and isms and meta tags, what are you left with? Are you strong and free enough as an individual to survive the loss of all those crutches and maintain reason and meaning? Can you use the power of thought and choice to walk the road of life?
The Greeks said know yourself. Be confident in yourself and your own efforts will make a life of happiness. So I say create music that fires the mind and inspires the soul; find a greater wisdom through reflection of work, love, art, ideas, family, and friendship; and to realize a greater philosophy for living in this new century.

Sail With Me
I am looking for guest bloggers. We review places, restaurants and other various items that are related to sailing and travel. If you are interested fill out the contact form and we will talk.
What you won't find here, is sponsored content. Every place, restaurant, or attractions we review has been personally visited by me (or one of my guest columnists) and we pay our own way.
We only feature companies we use – not ones that have paid us for advertising. Every company recommended is here because they are useful and we have used them.
You may not know, but a few of the adventures we feature on this website are genuinely dangerous things to do.
The website is written in a light-hearted fashion but you cannot overestimate the risks involved in taking part in extreme adventures.
But seriously when you strap a gas powered box fan to your back and use a parasail to fly 1000 miles across mountain wilderness you have a high chance of dying.
Just saying, be careful out there.
